I will share how to earn $700-$1000 per month as a virtual assistant. As you all know, this is my work. So I will share with you what Virtual assistants do? What skills do you need to learn as a VA, or that you should have?

How much is the salary range? Just the range guys, ok? And where you can apply, make sure you stay tuned until the end because I will share with you all the right places to look for openings.

Suppose you want to be a Virtual assistant working at home. Let’s start.

What is a virtual assistant?

Virtual assistant. Coming from the term itself is “Virtual,” meaning your work will be online, not face to face. You are an assistant in terms that you’re going to assist. You’re going to help your client from other places with their work.

A virtual assistant is a person who provides various services to entrepreneurs or companies from a remote location.

There are several things that virtual assistants can do, including:

  • Social media management
  • Event management
  • Manage calendars, appointments, and email
  • Preparation of reports
  • Personal tasks such as hotel and restaurant reservations
  • Simple digital marketing tasks

The list is endless!

In fact (pardon the pun), they can do whatever they want.

Think of them as Jarvis to Iron Man.

They didn’t exist personally, but they are still a vital part of your business.

If you are curious about the different tasks they can perform, we have highlighted 98 functions that you can delegate to helper assistants.

We won’t go into details here, but we’ll touch on the most important ones later.

But why do you need VA at all?

It’s the same as being a Personal Assistant, somewhat like a helper, sometimes an all-around helper.

There are a lot of different kinds of Virtual assistants. Many are real estate virtual assistants, meaning your client is a real estate agent or a broker.

Some are business owners. There are many different kinds of VA, and the scope is so broad you have to be versatile in job duties and responsibilities.

What does a virtual assistant do?

Virtual assistants can work as executive assistants, administrative assistants, personal assistants, and other related positions, depending on the client. Virtual assistant tasks can be any combination of the following:

  • Calendar and schedule management
  • trip organization
  • Organize files and documents
  • Track and organize your email
  • Answer and forward calls
  • Billing and accounting activities
  • Writing and maintaining records
  • Screening of leads, projects, partnerships, etc.
  • Maintain or update a client’s social media or professional profile

Since many of the tasks of a virtual assistant are performed using a computer, excellent typing skills and exceptional comfort in using various computer programs are required.

So I will share with you what are the skills that are usually required. So you need to have admin skills.

What are the admin skills that would include Back-end jobs like typing entering data that are easy because we already did this in school, right?

You know how to use Microsoft office; however, nowadays, we don’t usually use Office because Clients prefer to do it online with google drive.

So google drive is the same as Microsoft office. Instead of MS Word, they have Google Docs Instead of MS Excel.

They have Google Sheets. Apart from that, you need to have attention to detail. It’s important because you’re going to be swamped with a lot of data, and you need to enter them correctly And then. As Admin, you should know how to manage social media, which means you should know the in’s and out’s of Facebook, Instagram.

How to run ads because you have to set up a Facebook ad if they want to promote some content. Manage FB pages. This would also include a little bit of search engine optimization. Meaning you need to know how to put captions or tags relevant to your post’s content.

It depends on the content that your client requires. An ordinary skill that is a plus and required is basic photo editing.

Examples are, fixing photo orientation. If the photo is misaligned, you need to correct it, or if it’s dark, you will brighten it just basic skills.

But of course, if you are knowledgeable in Photoshop Illustrator, then that’s a plus.

But if you are starting, you only need to have basic skills. You can use the built-in application on your computer in Windows 10; you can use Photos.

Just right-click the picture, then choose edit; then all the options are there. You can brighten, crop, or fix the orientation.

So that’s pretty easy for photo editing. What are the other skills… You also need to know how to handle phone calls.

But not all VA’s job requires you to handle calls. Like in my case, I rarely do phone calls; I’m more on the marketing side.

But you should speak well, or at least you can converse well in English because sometimes your client will ask you to call someone like an assistant.

Virtual Assistant

Hey, can you reserve or can you book us a restaurant for a meeting?” So whoever you’re calling should be able to understand you.

You need to be familiar with call handling because sometimes your client will ask, “Hey, I’m busy. Can you take in my calls today?”

So you need to know basic call etiquette for my marketing. I’m creating marketing materials which include flyers, postcards any information that they want to print and be distributed to their prospective customers.

I’m also in charge of that. You need to know how to create a presentation; for example, they will present at a seminar or a conference.

You will create a presentation for them like slides and then manage contacts in their database.

Usually, clients’ databases are already set before you start. You are not going to create a database from scratch; that’s a different story.

What it’s like for me is that the client will take a picture of the business card and send it to me via email.

Can you enter this on our database?” then it’s up to me to enter their name, their last name, phone number, email.

It will all be categorized in there, so in the future, if we are going to contact this person, then the client can easily pull it off of the database.

It’s already digitized. I also compile files in my previous work. It was sales. I was assisting the operations manager.

Part of it is creating a report. You will set up the sheet or excel then enter all the sales numbers of sales, the total number of cancellations. You will prepare it like and end of the day or end-of-week report and submit it to your client.

So you also need to know how to how to analyze. You don’t need intensive experience or knowledge like learning how to Pivot in Excel.

But at least you need to know how to analyze and interpret data. Those are the basics that you need to know to summarize Admin work database management.

Benefits of working as a virtual assistant at home

The lifestyle of a virtual assistant can take some getting used to, and every party may be different. Still, overall, you will have a standard set of benefits from becoming a virtual assistant. Virtual assistants can work from home and set their own time – ideal for a spouse working from home.

As a virtual assistant, although you “work for someone,” you will usually work for yourself, and you are assigned as a 1099 contractor. For anyone who wants the freedom to work every day, this is an excellent opportunity.

Virtual assistants can earn anywhere from $ 10-15 per hour to over $ 100 per hour (or even higher, depending on your experience). But most helpers fall in the $ 15 to $ 30 range. Calculate how much you need to charge as a virtual assistant.

Plus, it doesn’t take much experience or work to get started as a virtual assistant. And, as you will see below, there are many ways to promote your services and find virtual assistant jobs.

Of course, when it comes to a virtual assistant, not everything is so rosy. There are many tricks to watch out for. You don’t need to buy anything to get a job in this field.

But you can sign up for Kayla Sloane’s online veteran assistance course if you need more guidance. She has grown her virtual assistant business to over $ 10,000 a month. If you’re serious about starting a full-time virtual assistant business, Kayla knows what it takes.

What makes a good virtual assistant?

Can anyone become a virtual assistant at home and have fun with it? I asked Jessica, my virtual assistant, what she would say to a friend who might be thinking about working as a virtual assistant. Here’s what she said:

“You have to be a beginner and be good at handling deadlines. Employers usually give you tasks to work on and they trust that you get them done on time. If you’re struggling with initiative and deadlines, this can be a problem. “

Kayla echoed this sentiment by saying that the only skills you need to be a virtual assistant are “basic networking, being organized, learning quickly, and being a beginner.”

Jessica also commented that you need good time management and organizational skills. “This includes attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.”

One of the biggest challenges I face when hiring virtual assistants is coming up with my virtual assistant’s tasks. So I would add that any good virtual assistant should collaborate with their clients to help them find a job.

Social media management primary photo editing Presentation skills and call handling Very few.

Being a virtual assistant covers many skills and different types of work, but the bottom line is the six skills that I shared.

It will all fall in that category. If you have those skills and are very familiar with doing them, then go for it go If you’re interested in working from home, start right away.

If it doesn’t work out, you can always try for another one. Now let’s talk about the salary.

So the salary range for a virtual assistant is the competitive rate of wages, so make sure if you have all those skills and more, then don’t short sell yourself. Make sure you negotiate well with your client.

The range would be from $700 – $1000 in a month. Sounds good, right? That would be around 35k to 50k pesos. Imagine.

That’s a big help in the household expenses. If you guys are looking at that range, I would recommend starting and applying as a virtual assistant.

I highly recommend this. So this is what I promised earlier. Where can you apply? Make sure you take this down. If you’re interested in applying as a virtual assistant, you can try first in online jobs.

Why you need a virtual assistant – 3 good reasons

Virtual assistants are everywhere today. More and more people are turning to them, and it seems they are here for a long time. It is why you have to install it yourself.

  1. Making the best use of your employees
Suppose a middle or high-ranking employee had to choose between two options:

Play an active role in the implementation of growth strategies
Daily preparation of scheduled reports
What will they choose?

Probably, they chose option number 1.

What for?

This is more interesting and seems more important.

But that doesn’t mean you can neglect everyday tasks like email and finance. Your business will fall apart without this tedious, repetitive work.

So how do you keep your internal team happy while still performing everyday tasks?

With virtual assistants.

They can handle most of these everyday tasks that can be done remotely.

Results?

The staff member (especially those who are older or talented) can focus on more important things that need to be done in person in your office.

  1. Reduced costs.
One of the main reasons entrepreneurs and companies outsource work is because it is cheaper.

Savings on wages
Instead of hiring a full-time employee for a small job, you can hire someone for an hour.

Low pay isn’t the only way to save money with virtual professionals.

Save on training
An employer can also significantly save on training costs.

Typically, companies must educate their internal team on the tasks and responsibilities after the hiring process is complete.

All this takes time and money – most companies cannot afford it.

With VA, small business owners can hire professionals who already have experts in their field.

Thus, the employer does not need to spend time and money on their training – they can start working right away.

  1. Saves time
Another reason small business owners turn to virtual assistant software is that it saves them a lot of time.

We all know that time is money, especially in business.

For example, suppose you are a small business with no HR department.

Your employees don’t have to spend hours posting job advertisements, doing initial resume checks, organizing the interview process — all while hiring someone for an entry-level position.

Why not skip it all and instead have a professional work on specific tasks?

With virtual assistants, you get:

You will have certified professionals that you can hire in no time
They save time because you don’t have to waste time training them.
Because they can continue to focus only on the tasks you hired them for, they get the job done faster than anyone with multiple demands.
This is a win for all parties involved.

Would you please look at what Liam Martin, co-founder of Time Doctor, has to say about what he has learned from hiring visiting assistants for over ten years?

How much do virtual assistants do?

PayScale offers a wide range of salaries for virtual assistants based on their skill level, years of experience, industry, and customers.

The range ranges from $ 15,387 to $ 65,379 per year, with an average of $ 36,272 per year. Hourly wages for a virtual assistant range from $ 10.16 to $ 29.49, with an average hourly rate of around $ 16.

Conclusion

Virtual assistant jobs come in all shapes and sizes: full-time, part-time, self-employed, freelance, temporary, and alternative work. Many virtual assistants work with more than one client at the same time on a freelance basis, combining multiple part-time projects to create a full-time job for themselves. If you’re looking for a virtual assistant job that offers flexibility, you’ve come to the right place!
